In this episode of The Dark Theme Park Show we discuss the recent announcement that Splash Mountain at Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will be stripped of all references to the extremely problematic film “Song of the South” and re-themed to “The Princess and the Frog.” We share our thoughts on the current state of the attraction as well as the announced changes. We also provide some context to why “Song of the South” is problematic from our own first hand thoughts as well as the deeply researched analysis of the film and the attraction on the “You Must Remember This” podcast series of episodes titled “Six Degrees of Song of The South”.
